PETER FOYLE - SOLO EXHIBITION
Sunday 19 October 2025 - Sunday 11 January 2026
Private View Saturday 18 October 2025, 2-4pm
We are delighted to bring you a solo exhibition of new work by popular artist, Peter Foyle. A graduate from St Martin’s School of Art in London, he now lives and works in Scotland and together with his wife, runs a local framing gallery.
Peter, who was brought up in Dorset, spent his teenage years painting en plen air around the country lanes of his childhood home. He won awards for painting and had already sold work and undertaken commissions, before he graduated. He went on to have a successful career as a freelance artist and illustrator. Then in 1990 he and his wife embarked on a new venture and opened the Framework Gallery in Troon.
Those who are familiar with Peter’s work will know how much light and atmosphere are important features of his painting. Predominantly a landscape painter, but not limited to this genre, he will paint whatever he finds visually exciting.
He describes his paint process… “I see my work as drawings in paint, working quickly and freely across the whole canvas. I try to convey an impression of the atmosphere and light rather than a detailed description of the subject. In particular, I’m inspired by the way light and reflections can play across ordinary objects and familiar places, giving them a fresh beauty.”
We hope you call in and see his latest work in Gallery One. A mixture of light infused landscapes, both of Scottish scenes and overseas, along with still life. The show launches with a private view on Saturday 18 October from 2-4pm. The exhibition runs from Sunday 19 October until Sunday 11 January 2026.
